A continuación cuelgo la carta de despedida que aparece en la pagina de Victorinox.
His legacy lives on
Farewell to Carl Elsener Sr.
Carl Elsener was born in Ibach in 1922. Early on, he dedicated himself wholeheartedly to the knife factory. He became head of the company in 1950, following the death of his father. With his clear vision and tremendous innovative spirit he paved the way for the industrialization of Victorinox and sustained the company’s competitiveness. Good things could be made even better – that was the essence of Carl Elsener's pioneering approach. By placing trust in his employees, taking courageous decisions and setting the highest quality standards, he carried Victorinox – and consequently a little piece of Switzerland – out into the world.
For him, running Victorinox meant first and foremost responsibility towards the many people who built their livelihoods here. His life was exemplified by Christian values, such as mutual trust, respect, gratitude and humility, along with courage and determination.
The Elsener family and the entire Victorinox company will continue to perpetuate the human and entrepreneurial values inherited from Carl Elsener. He was our role model – and always will be.
